Meet the team

Dheraen
Community Manager

What’s your role at The Marches?
I am fortunate enough to be the community manager for The Marches. I describe my role as the ‘glue’ that brings and keeps everybody together. I love to bring all elements of the local Woking community into our offering at The Marches, whether that’s through our supply chain or our recruitment. I can’t wait to meet our new residents and create a community for them to enjoy and create memories together.
What’s your favourite thing about Woking?
I love the range of Al Fresco dining options along commercial way. When the weather wants to play nice, it feels like you’re in a European city, there’s a nice buzz and vibrancy about the place.
When will the residents meet you?
I will be here there and everywhere, I love a good chat so don’t be afraid to come and say hello. Residents might meet me at one of our resident events or in our top floor lounges — I have a feeling I’ll be working from up there quite a lot!
What’s a fun fact about you?
I am mixed heritage with Irish and Trinidadian grandparents. Oh, and I used to be an Irish dancer, until I realised it wasn’t cool!
What’s your favourite thing about your role?
I enjoy seeing my team members grow and build their confidence and I love creating natural reasons for residents to connect and engage with each other. Being able to make our residents happy is worth all of the hard work.
What’s your favourite thing about life at The Marches?
In the small time this year that I have spent in Woking as part of building our team and preparing for the launch, there has already been a huge shift in Woking in terms of restaurants, independent bars and afternoon tea terraces. I can’t wait to see Woking evolve in the next 12 months. I also adore the shade of blue of the kitchen counters!

Gurbinder
Leasing Manager

What’s your role at The Marches?
As the Marches Leasing Manager, I’m here with my team to help you find the apartment of your dreams and become part of our amazing community. I want to make sure you have the best possible rental experience and a memorable time.
What’s your favourite thing about Woking?
I love how inclusive the Marches feels, it helps that Woking town centre is nestled in-between rich countryside and has awesome commuting links. Being an avid walker and coffee addict, I love how green Woking is, you’re never too far from a pretty hike or parks whilst having a great balance of independent coffee shops and shopping amenities at your doorstep.
When will the residents meet you?
I’ll likely be one of the first people they meet at The Marches when they’re finding their apartment. After that, residents don’t need to look far to find me as I’ll be in the leasing office which is on the 2nd floor of East Tower, available anytime they want to have a chat, need any assistance or just want to bring their dog to say hello!
What’s a fun fact about you?
I became a member of Mensa when I was a teenager and I love watching docuseries.
What’s your favourite thing about your role?
My favourite thing about my role is seeing people live in a community feeling happy and content, as I know how tedious and difficult renting can be if you have had a negative past experience. It makes my day, knowing that I’ve helped create a lovely community along with meeting different kinds of people along the way, Not to mention all the resident pets!
What’s your favourite thing about life at The Marches?
I think our residents will love being in our communal spaces with the unparalleled sky-high views – the spaces are so breath-taking and multi-functional, with striking furniture items. The simple nicety of having a home away from your home a minute’s lift journey away, on the 28th and 32nd floors will be priceless!

Sophie
Project Manager

What’s your role at The Marches?
I am Native’s Project Manager for these amazing towers. What does that mean? Well, I like to think it is all the fun stuff to mobilise the building with all the right items. I get to work with the contractors and architects to obtain the most operationally efficient space as possible for the Native’s staff but most importantly making sure we are providing the best apartments for our tenants. Working alongside designers, I get to pick our best manufacturers in the UK to get you beautiful and comfortable furniture for your homes. I put on my creative hat on for what would be the best use of the amenity spaces so that you can share some special times with friends and family whilst enjoying the stonking views across the Surrey Hills.
What’s your favourite thing about Woking?
The investments and the commitment that the council has to make Woking as a destination is really inspiring and is a true testament of social entrepreneurship.
What’s a fun fact about you?
I used to be a professional horse rider in my teens. I also had an itch to move to Asia a few years ago and worked for Savills in Tokyo for 2 years. And no, I cannot speak fluently in Japanese but can help you make table reservations and get directions with no problems!
What’s your favourite thing about your role?
I get to work with a variety of people with different skills and personalities and shows that creativity can be endless. Architects, contractors, tradesmen, designers, suppliers, and operations – there’s never a dull day!
What’s your favourite thing about life at The Marches?
The views and more of the views! I love the work we have put into the communal spaces; I mean, the opportunity to WFH at that height with such great views outside of congested London is just unheard of. The council have done an amazing job at making this rejuvenation as mixed-use as possible. The amount of various retail destinations, the food and vegetable market, and the local cafes that are slowly cropping up over the past year is showing that the city is being reborn.
