Calling all wine aficionados!
If savouring a bottle of red or chatting over a glass of something sparkling is your idea of a good night, then look no further than Cellar Magnifique.
You can find this gem just off the High Street by the train station, where it operates as an expansive wine shop by day – perfect for grabbing a bottle of the good stuff before visiting friends and family.
But at night, it transforms into a bustling cafe bar. Still retaining its sheer love and knowledge for all things grown from a grape, Cellar Magnifique offers outstanding wines by glass or bottle from around the world.
Boasting delicious cheese trays – served on a trolley, of course – to perfectly pair with full-bodied reds, dry whites and fruity rose, sink into a big leather sofa and soak in the atmosphere.

Mixin’ it up at Bank
Settled just behind Victoria Shopping centre, Bank is a fun and vivacious cocktail bar that transforms into a nightclub from Wednesday to Sunday.
While you’re bopping to RnB classics and old-school jams, Bank prides itself on being a warm, genuine place with VIP experiences – including a comprehensive cocktail selection.
Ask their mixologists to whip up something special, or treat yourself to a Cosmo or Mojito for a bit of Dutch courage before hitting the karaoke.
Whatever your preference, come down to Bank for the 2-4-1 cocktails during happy hour and keep those dancing shoes on ‘till 3am at the weekend.

Getting crafty at The Last Hop
Sticking with independent – but taking us a little outside of Woking in Staines – sits The Last Hop.
This gorgeous tap house has the River Thames as its backdrop, making it a great destination for lazing away a summer evening with a pint. Beer lovers take note, as The Last Hop is all about supplying a fantastic range of craft beers, of which there are over 20!
Don’t expect the same selection twice though, as they change on the daily – promising something for everyone.
As well as top-tier beers, The Last Hop also serves up delicious handmade pizzas, which are great to chow down on while enjoying one of their regular live music gigs, comedy events, or quizzes.

Slinging them back at Slug and Lettuce
Of course, we can’t let any list go without some of our high street favourites.
Get the good times flowing at everyone’s favourite bottomless brunch spot, Slug and Lettuce, with plenty of happy hour offers, bites, cocktails and even a bit of dancing when the playlist hits just right.
Situated on the corner just beyond Victoria Place Shopping Centre, Slug and Lettuce is a fan favourite for quick drinks, light bites and get-togethers with mates.
Two-for-one fun at Las Iguanas
South American chain bar and restaurant, Las Iguanas, can be found on Commercial Street. They aim to create a place that ‘lives and breathes Latin’, this is a destination that’s great for late afternoon bites that spill into evening drinks.
So if you’re on the hunt for a well-priced tipple, their two-for-one cocktail deal runs all day, every day. If you need any further help washing down a wide selection of tapas and sharing dishes, the bar also offers a variety of sharing cocktails, South American wines, and beer by the jug if you’re thirsty.
